Pacific Times has been the American bar with a kitchen in Munich’s Glockenbach quarter since 1997. Our self-initiated concept study designs a new website for the house. It reads like an evening paper, with a masthead, sections and the house drinks lexicon as a supplement.

A new edition every evening
The homepage is a front page: a full-width masthead and a dateline with an issue number that counts the days since the first evening on 21 July 1997. Below it, six sections run from the bar counter to the address.
The house lexicon on its own page: 62 drinks with recipes, set alphabetically in newspaper columns, filterable by eight chapters and searchable by name or ingredient. The house drink, Campari Seltz, appears as a dictionary entry with its pronunciation.
A food menu with dot leaders to the price, designed for the phone first. It is set up as the destination for the QR code on the table.
Calm motion: the compass rose in the header turns as you read and points north again at the end of the page. Photos glide past each other at different speeds.
Art direction in Bodoni Moda and Instrument Sans, set in white, printer’s black and Campari red, with drawn vignettes ranging from a rotary phone to a pocket watch.
