Fast web front ends
A lean front end loads quickly, responds to input without delay and protects conversion on every device.
Background
Slow front ends usually share a cause: large JavaScript bundles and frameworks that load more than they need. The problem gets worse on low-cost smartphones.
Technology by page type
Not every page needs a JavaScript framework. We render content pages on the server and add interactivity where it is needed. For configurators or dashboards, we use Svelte or Vue.js. Svelte produces particularly small bundles because it does its work at build time.
What we focus on
Components built on a design system with tokens
Accessibility to WCAG 2.2 AA in every component
Progressive enhancement, so core functions work without JavaScript
Animations that respect the reduced-motion setting
Approach
We build components in isolation, test them automatically and document them. Performance budgets in the CI pipeline stop load times creeping up as functions are added. LCP and INP targets on a mid-range smartphone form part of acceptance testing. The front ends connect to Statamic, Laravel or any API.
