Mobile SEO

Mobile SEO ensures Google captures the full mobile version of your site, and that pages stay fast and usable on a smartphone.

Mobile-first indexing

Google now ranks websites on their mobile version alone. Anything missing there effectively does not exist.

Equivalent content

The mobile version needs the same content, headings, structured data and meta information as desktop. Expandable sections are fine. Problems start when content, alt text or internal links are missing on mobile or only load after an interaction.

Page speed and Core Web Vitals

Core Web Vitals measure load time (LCP), responsiveness to input (INP) and layout stability (CLS) for real users. On mobile, INP suffers most from heavy JavaScript. We measure each device type separately, as many sites pass on desktop and fail on mobile.

Usability

  • Readable font sizes without zooming

  • Touch targets large enough and spaced apart, meeting at least WCAG 2.2 AA

  • Forms with suitable keyboards and autocomplete

Google rates full-screen interstitials shown straight after page load negatively. Legally required notices such as cookie consent are exempt.

Approach

We compare content and technology on mobile and desktop. Search Console, crawls with a mobile user agent and tests on real devices show what Google and users actually see. Accessibility is checked in the same pass.
