Design system development

A design system built from components and tokens keeps interfaces consistent and gets new pages live sooner.

Background

A design system sets out once how the building blocks of an interface look and behave. Without it, every new page and team adds more variants. It pays off most when you run several websites, products or brands.

What it includes

  • Design tokens: colours, type, spacing and corner radii as named values.

  • Components: from buttons to forms, with all their states.

  • Patterns: recurring combinations such as page headers or contact sections.

  • Documentation: usage rules, accessibility notes and examples.

Approach

From an audit of your existing interfaces, we derive the tokens and the key components. Each component is built in Figma and in code in parallel, accessible to WCAG 2.2 AA.

Ownership and maintenance

A design system only stays useful if someone looks after it. We therefore define owners, versioning and a process for new components. Brand and usability stay consistent, even as teams and suppliers change.
