Accessible UX design makes interfaces usable for everyone, including with a keyboard or screen reader.
Background
Accessible design makes interfaces work for people who have trouble seeing, hearing or using their hands. For many companies it is a legal duty. Since 28 June 2025, the European Accessibility Act has applied in Germany to many consumer services, such as online shops. Public bodies follow BITV 2.0.
The WCAG 2.2 AA benchmark
Under WCAG, content must be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust. Version 2.2 adds criteria for visible focus, touch target size and log-ins without cognitive tests.

Approach
Accessibility is part of the plan from the first wireframe. Every component is designed with all its states, roles and labels. Before launch, we test with automated tools and by hand with VoiceOver and NVDA. We always check keyboard use, reading order and forms ourselves.
Outcome
Your interface meets the legal requirements and reaches more people. If you need it, we also write the accessibility statement under BITV 2.0 or the European Accessibility Act.
